COVID Updates For Messiah
Updated May 26, 2021
Service Times: Sunday 9:00 a.m. | Sunday 10:30 a.m.
(The 9:00 service is broadcast live and available on demand.)
Messiah has been safely worshiping in-person since July 2020. We adhere to state and local guidelines and follow scientifically backed recommendations from federal health authorities when determining safety measures and policies. Since reopening, Messiah has required staff and volunteers to wear masks, and worshippers were encouraged to wear them. As of May 30, 2021, Messiah will no longer require staff and volunteers to wear masks if they have been fully vaccinated. This policy follows current recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which state that those who have been fully vaccinated “can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.”
Staff and volunteers who feel safer wearing masks are encouraged to continue doing so. Messiah did not have a mask mandate in place for worshipers, so no policy change is necessary.
In-person worship is Sunday morning at 9:00 and 10:30(CST). Both services are identical. The 9:00 service is livestreamed and available on demand on our YouTube channel.
These services are both in the prime time that is most convenient for people to worship on a Sunday morning. Outside doors will open 20 minutes prior to the start of each service, so please keep that in mind when planning your arrival time.
We will be operating at a reduced seating capacity. Staff hosts will lead the seating process. Chairs will be set up in accordance with social distancing standards. In the event that we reach our seating capacity, overflow space will be available in The Commons to watch the livestream. Reservations will not be required or accepted. The 9:00 service is expected to be the most crowded.
The Lord’s Supper has resumed. We will advertise the dates ahead of time on our weekly emails and social media channels. Please call the office at 636-926-9773 if you wish for a Spiritual Care Pastor to bring Communion to you.
MessiahKids meets at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. As of May 30, 2021, temperature screenings will no longer be taking place and fully vaccinated volunteers will not be wearing masks. Children are encouraged to continue wearing masks
Coffee service will resume at a TBD date this summer. If interested in volunteering to help with the coffee bar, please contact Emily Robinett at firstname.lastname@example.org
