Reopening Messiah Lutheran Church
Service Times: Sunday 9:00 a.m. | Sunday 10:45 a.m.
(Services are livestreamed.)
Messiah is so glad to welcome you back to in-person worship on Sunday mornings! We are balancing our desire to worship and gather as a church community with the need to adhere to best practices and recommendations from government and health officials regarding social distancing. All guidelines for opening will be communicated on this page.
There will be two identical worship services at 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Both services will also be livestreamed. These services are both in the prime time that is most convenient for people to worship on a Sunday morning to even out attendance, maximize resources, and minimize risk. Extra time between services allows for proper disinfecting and cleaning, limiting bottlenecks in the flow of people and cars between services. Outside doors will open 20 minutes prior to the start of each service, so please keep that in mind when planning your arrival time.
We will be operating at a reduced seating capacity. Staff hosts will lead the seating process. Chairs will be set up in accordance with social distancing standards. In the event that we reach our seating capacity, overflow space will be available in The Commons to watch the livestream. Reservations will not be required or accepted. The 9:00 service is expected to be the most crowded.
We will not be serving communion initially, but we are making plans to celebrate the Lord’s Supper as quickly as possible.
Wearing masks is encouraged, but it is not a requirement for worship.
Messiah’s children’s ministry will not yet be in session on July 5. We do not have an opening date yet, but we hope you will join us for the FREE Family Fest on July 15 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required.
Coffee and donuts will not be served until further notice.
